The padding does start off hard and uncomfortable, but they DO break in after a couple of weeks. I had trouble with the left boot, and my buddy had problems with the right, but they feel nice in my Aragons. It fills the boot up better than a Jug liner, and my feet don't slip around in the liner. The plus side to me is being able to string the laces into the side of the liner to keep my heel in place. My other friends have them in Valos(toe cut), REMZ OS3, and USDs. It was worth the money to me and 3 other of my friends, but the choice is up to you. I hope this helps a little bit .
